Technical Description
This testing frame is primarily used for loading experiments on components from steelwork and civil engineering. It is specially designed for large components in 1:1 scale. The design with its double frame and intermediate space permits specimens longer than the size of the frame opening to be investigated. It this way the possible uses of the testing frame are almost unlimited. The frame components are manufactured from U section St52. The corners of the frame are formed by joints rigid to bending, each is fastened together with 9 high-strength bolts. The testing frame is delivered in pre-assembled modules; it is assembled on site and placed on four adjustable, vibration damping bearings. The hydraulic ram systems available as accessories are on rollers and can be positioned as required within the frame.

Technical Description

The moment is transmitted to the test bars using commercially available hex sockets. For adaptation to different length probes, the dolly can be slid. Technical Description
Using this unit, metal test bars are twisted to destruction. The test moment and the angle of twist are recorded during this process. Test bars made of different materials with varying lengths are included. The test moment is applied manually using a hand wheel and a worm drive. Measurement is performed with a strain gauge torsion shaft, the deformation of which is compensated. The measurement can be read off directly in Nm on a digital display on the measuring amplifier. For adaption to different length specimens, the measurement jig can be slid along the stiff frame. Using a calibration unit at the start of the experiment, it is possible to generate a defined torque. The angle of twist is determined using a graduated scale and and a revolutions counter. Commercially available 1/2" square drive sockets, 17mm across flats, are used as specimen holders.

The pendulum impact testing machine is a solid unit specially designed for engineering lectures. It is used for performing the notched bar impact bending test with increased impact energy up to 300Nm. Two impact energy settings are available using an additional weight on the hammer. The distribution of the stress in the model can thus be clearly seen. The polariscope can either generate coloured stress diagrams using white light or, using monochromatic light, light-dark diagrams. The filters, which have angular scales, can be rotated in a holder mounted on rollers. On the side is a pointer using which the angular position can be read off. Light sources, polarisation filters and load frames are separate components on this unit. Thus it is possible to realise flexible experimental set-ups also with own models.

Technical Description 
Using this benchtop unit, the basic principles of fatigue testing can be conveyed. A rotating metal test bar, clamped at one end, is loaded using a spring balance with a point force. This results in a cyclic bending load on the cylindrical specimen. The amplitude of the cyclic loading can be continuously adjusted using a threaded spindle with hand wheel. After a certain number of load cycles, the specimen breaks as a result of material fatigue. In this case the machine is shut down automatically by the stop switch. The number of load cycles is counted by an electrical counter and displayed digitally. This can also be used for measuring the speed. Different shape specimens enable the influence of notching and surface finish on fatigue strength to be demonstrated.
